FairGrounds fairly traded jewellery is designed and produced by women in small cooperatives and villages around Taxco in Mexico. The silver comes from local mines and is artisan mined. The mosaics are made from stone including stabilised turquoise, and also abalone.
The metals used include (lead-free) pewter with silver, bronze, German silver and silver plating.
The benefits of Artisan mining: Artisan mining means it is mined on a small scale contributing to environmental protection, human health and ecological restoration in its operations and communities. Artisan Small Mining contribute to the sustainable human development of village communities, benefitting the people and improving quality of life and productive workers and families.
The aim is that the the women through their work connect their rich handcrafts tradition of their community with the present day markets of the world at the same time as being able to provide for their families so that their children might live dignified lives.

Mosaic stone and Abalone with a brooch pin and roller clasp. Brooches are made of Fine Pewter Silver Alloy.
Brooch pin and fittings are made of German Silver.
This fairly traded jewellery is designed and produced in the villages around Taxcoin Mexico by women of the local community who are using skills passed down through generations.

The mosaics are made from Mexican stone,including stabilised turquoise and also abalone. The metal used is a Fine Pewter Silver Alloy (mainly tin and no nickel, no lead, no cadmium, no zinc).
