Nomads
Nomads was started in the 1980's by a couple who went backpacking around India. They used the money they had left from their trip to bring a suitcase of beautiful clothes home to sell in the UK.
Since then they have combined a love of India and Indian craft with UK design and created the Nomads brand. They are members of BAFTS and maintain a policy of 'trade not aid' because they believe that this is the best way to maintain a sustainable and profitable living for the producers.
They regularly visit their factories to inspect them to ensure the workers are treated fairly and with respect, although working with smaller communities also provides essential support to some of the most diasadvantaged rural areas.Some of their items we sell also promote the use of traditional crafts such as tie dye in order to keep these traditions alive.
