It aims to sustain the marketing ability of individual and family based artisans. It is a not-for-profit organisation which works to ensure that benefits of handicraft production reach the craftspeople themselves, by buying directly from the artisan groups and offering advance payments on orders.

Asha provides training and teaching facilities in tailoring and metal work, thereby establishing new local groups of craftsmen. It also provides educational assistance for children of the producers, medical check ups and treatment and savings programs for artisans and spouses.

This fairtrade fighter jet 3D model kit arrives pre-cut from wooden board - the pieces simply push out. Once you've pushed them out, start to slot the pieces together to form the model. No tools, cutting or glueing required! There is an easy to follow numbering system to follow to build the model. They look great when built. Once finished the model can be painted or vanished. (paints and varnish not included)

This 3D model kit is imported by Siiren, a UK-based company whose ethos it is to personally ensure their products are not produced in sweatshops and guarantee no child labour has been used. They buy direct from the artisans, which cuts out the middleman and means the artisans are receiving around four times the price for their craftsmanship than they otherwise would. In addition, all Siiren products are made of wood taken from proven sustainable sources, with a required unique stamp and serial number which ensures that the wood is under legal and enviromental control, so they're eco-friendly too!
